Christmas Story on the Phone-A-Story line.

Greetings. We now have a new CHRISTMAS story playing on our Phone-A-Story line!

I invite you and all children around to listen to this several parts story. Here's the schedule.

December 19-22 - Christmas Story - Leaping for Joy
December 22-24 - Christmas Story - The Journey Begins
December 24-26 - Christmas Story - Once in Royal David's City

To listen, call our line. We have an 800 number that works for anyone living in Manitoba. 1-877-667-8311. If you actually live in Winnipeg you can just call 667-8311. We've originally received these Christmas stories from Kids Corner: http://www.kidscorner.net/, a ministry of Back to God Ministries International. We appreciate the work that Kids Corner has done and thank them for allowing us to use their stories.

We also want to inform our CSSM family and friends about a Christian online radio for kids from Cornerstone University Radio. I've listened to this radio and they have many cool and God honoring songs for kids by kids and other fun and educational audio dramas. You can go to their website http://hiskids.net/ and start listening to their radio right away by click on "His Kids Radio" link that is found at the bottom of the "Listen On-Demand" list on their website.

Welcome to our new National Director!

We are encouraged to welcome our new National Director Scott Kelusky!

Scott's service with the mission officially began this week and we look forward towards his leadership in our mission.

Our National Executive was unanimous in offering Scott Kelusky the position of National Director; after considerable time of prayer and consideration, with trepidation, Scott and Ruth accepted the position.

Scott and Ruth have extensive experience in Christian camping ministry and with a Christian conference centre. Scott is a strong communicator, a good listener and a leader with a servant attitude. In his further past professional life he was a business owner for 16 years, including the operation of a Christian bookstore.
Thank you again for your prayers for the new National Director; God has provided and we give Him thanks and praise!

More detailed introductions of Scott and Ruth Kelusky will follow in the next weeks and months.

Welcome to our new Gimli Bible Camp Site Manager!

It gives me great pleasure to introduce to you our newest CSSM Ministries–MB missionaries, Jake and Martha Friesen!

Jake and Martha will be joining Don and Charlotte at Gimli Bible Camp where Jake has been brought on as the Gimli Bible Camp Site Manager. Jake has served on the Gimli Bible Camp Board for numerous years and is no stranger to the Camp. He is excited to join the Mission in this role and is anticipating starting mid-October. They presently live in the Gimli area.

New Drawing Contest

We are running a new Drawing Contest.

We are asking young people to draw a scene from the Bible story about David, Jonathan and King Saul found in 1st Samuel 20.

For this contest we will have two prizes. An Artist Set and Drawing Tools Set.

The first one will be awarded to the winner between the age of 5 to 12 and the second one will be sent to the winner in the ages of 13 to 19 groups.

In this contest we need the young people to read this story from the Bible and to draw ONE scene from this story. It could be a picture of the two friends making an oath to each other; it could be a picture of the dining room table with David’s seat being empty, King Saul sitting by the wall across from Jonathan. Or it could be a picture of Jonathan signaling David, by shooting 3 arrows towards the stone of Ezel while David was hiding in the area. Young people are encouraged to read the story in the Bible to get all the details and then to draw the contest picture.

This is originally our Phone-A-Story contest, but any young person within the given age is invited to participate.
To hear the story summarized over the phone call our Phone-A-Story line toll free at 1-877-667-8311 if you live in Manitoba or (204) 667-8311 outside of Manitoba. Children please make sure you have permission from you parents to call long distance.
